The Cavinder sisters are back together.
Haley and Hanna Cavinder will play basketball together one last time after the twins announced they will be returning to the University of Miami for their final college basketball season.
On Wednesday, Hanna Cavinder said in a social media post she would be returning to play for the Hurricanes after taking a one-year absence away from the sport.
"The past few months I have been itching to get back to the game that I thought I lost the passion for," she said.
A day later, Haley Cavinder revealed she would be joining her sister in Miami, a twist after she announced her commitment to TCU in November.
"There is nothing more important than family and the bond I share with my twin sister," Haley Cavinder said in social media post on Thursday. "Being presented with the opportunity to play together one more time is something I cannot pass up. I am excited for this upcoming season and can't wait to play at the U."
Also known as the "queens of the NIL," the Cavinder twins have been one of the most popular duos in college sports given their rise to fame and being among the first athletes to capitalize in the era of name, image and likeness.
The twins played their first season of college basketball in 2019 at Fresno State, where they played for three seasons. In 2022, they transferred to Miami and had a successful season in Coral Gables. The Hurricanes reached the Elite Eight for the first time in school history, where they lost to eventual national champion LSU.
After the 2022-23 season, Hanna Cavinder decided to step away from basketball, while Haley Cavinder announced her transfer to play for TCU for the 2024-25 season. Since deciding to leave basketball, the Cavinders have been busy partnering with several companies while pursuing other endeavors. The two signed a contract with WWE and had been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, training for a possible in-ring career.
In their last season, Haley Cavinder started every game for Miami and she averaged a team-high 12.2 points and 4.9 rebounds as she was named all-ACC Second Team. Hanna Cavinder averaged 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 34 games played in her last season.
This past season, Miami went 19-12 and missed the NCAA Tournament. Katie Meier retired after 19 seasons with the Hurricanes, and former Toledo head coach Tricia Cullop was hired to lead the team.
